Staff Spotlight: Wanda Scott, Peer Counselor for Project Ready, Set, Go!

Wanda Scott graduated from the first Fulton County Juvenile Court Family Drug Court class in 2005. In January 2008, she began working every Wednesday at the Juvenile Justice Fund as a Peer Counselor for Project Ready, Set, Go!

In her first eight months, Wanda has provided vital one-on-one support and encouragement for drug addicted parents in the program. In her role, she has been instrumental in helping to increase graduation rates of the Family Drug Court program ultimately resulting in the reunification of children with their families. All JJF staff agree that Wanda’s positive work attitude and tough-love dedication to her clients is inspiring.

In the spring of 2008, Wanda celebrated three years of remaining clean and drug-free. She will increase her JJF service to 30 hours per week beginning October 1, 2008. Congratulations Wanda, thank you for your hard work and achievements. We are all behind you!
